2010 Application for New Membership

*Dues provide membership for the joining month and for the remainder of the calendar year (new members will be prorated accordingly).   Payments can be made annually, semi-annually, or quarterly. Please contact the Chamber if you choose to pay semi-annually or quarterly. Otherwise, we will bill annually. The Rockton Chamber of Commerce is considered a professional non profit organization 501 c (6). Please check with your tax advisor for advice on how to deduct your Chamber Membership dues on your taxes.

Rockton Chamber Events

Ro-Ro– Expo

Ro-Ro Expo is short for the Rockton-Roscoe Business Exposition sponsored by the Rockton and Roscoe Chambers of Commerce. Ro-Ro is an opportunity to showcase your business or non-profit organization to the community. This event is held at the Hononegah High School Dome in March and features entertainment, food and great networking. Direct sales are allowed.

Annual Dinner

The Rockton Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual dinner at which awards are given to those businesses and individuals who have made the greatest contributions to the Chamber during the previous year. New officers are introduced and updates of Chamber business to membership are announced.

Golf Play Day

This fundraising event is open to all. It is held in June at Macktown Golf Course with a shotgun start. You can sign up a foursome and enjoy a great day of networking with fellow members, friends and colleagues. Included are a picnic banquet, silent auction, giveaways, door prizes and much more. Hole and game sponsorship opportunities are also available.

New Teachers Breakfast

This event is a partnership between the Rockton and Roscoe Chambers of Commerce and occurs in late August. Its primary goal is to welcome new teachers to our school districts. Hononegah High School, Rockton School District, Prairie Hill School District, Shirland School District and Kinnikinnick School District all participate in this event. Gift bags are given to all new teachers in attendance. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are available.

Stateline Women in Business Power Luncheon

The luncheon is held in the fall every year. This event is open to all women who wish to network with other businesswomen and promote their individual businesses. Booth reservations are available. There are also prize giveaways. The Rockton, Beloit, and Roscoe Chambers alternate the planning of this event yearly.

Christmas Walk

Christmas Walk is held annually in December. This is a family event that draws a large amount of local as well as regional crowds to the streets of Rockton. This event features a Lighted Christmas Parade and other activities. The downtown businesses offer an abundance of holiday cheer and festivities for all who attend.

Member Benefits

Networking

The first Wednesday of each month the Rockton Chamber of Commerce holds a General Membership Meeting from 11:30am to 1:00pm. This gives members an opportunity to network, exchange information and discuss upcoming events. A tabletop display is available for members to display information regarding their business.

Office Services

The Chamber offers new mailing lists of area businesses each year to members upon request. Membership labels are also available for purchase for $20 for the list in its entirety. Members receive a discount on mailings through the use of the Chamber’s bulk mailing rate for mailing of 125 pieces or more. We also have a postage machine that is available for member use. You will be responsible for payment of postage used. The copy machine is available for $.05/page for members and $.10/page for non-members. The fax machine is available for $.50/page to send and $1.00/page to receive. If you would like to request any meeting information (i.e. board meeting minutes, financials, etc.) please submit your request in writing. All requests are to be reviewed by the Executive Board within 5 business days.

Newsletters

A weekly newsletter is emailed to members. The newsletter provides members with information about Chamber events as well as community events. New members are showcased. Current events relating to your business, its accomplishments or personal achievements of employees are encouraged to be submitted. Sponsorship advertising opportunities are also available in the newsletter. Employment opportunities at your business are also welcomed entry submissions.

Special Recognition Events

The Chamber welcomes new businesses to the Rockton community through ribbon cuttings, grand openings and groundbreaking ceremonies. Business-After-Hours are held to help individuals introduce their business or new location. The Chamber can help you showcase your business through special recognition events.

Community Involvement

Participation is encouraged on Chamber committees, the Executive Board, and the Board of Directors. Please see the committee interest page for additional information.

Website

Linking to our website creates greater exposure for your business and can be a huge benefit to businesses that do not have a business of their own. It is also a great resource for highlighting upcoming events and marketing.

Members Helping Members

Members Helping Members is designed to promote your business to other Chamber members, their employees and individual households through offering a special discount or promotion.

Certificates of Origin & Notary Public

If you ship internationally, you may need a Certificate of Origin. We can provide the seal and signature you need. We also provide Notary Services.

Moving Targets

Moving Targets is a great way to market your business to new residents in Rockton. $100 enables you to have an ad in the welcome letter and access to the monthly new resident lists. Enrollment for this program is every December.
